Hello!
I am considering Austalorps for a small suburban flock in Indianapolis, Indiana. I'm confident that I can keep birds warm through the winter, but I'm concerned about heat in the summer. A typical summer heat wave here can stay above 95 degrees for several weeks, and 60% to 80% humidity. Basicly, we live in a swamp.
If anyone has anything to share concerning the heat tolerance of this breed, I'd love to hear it!
Thanks in advance!

I've had 2 australorps for a couple of years, I live in the tropics of Australia, our summer is about 40 degrees and extreme humidity. I haven't had any dramas, I know there are a few breeders also around up here, so I'd say they'd be fine

Digging up an old thread - but as boxhed said, they should be fine. I live in the central region of Australia, and we get temps up to around 120 degrees (Fahrenheit), and I've not lost a single bird.
